Empowering Climate Changemakers

Joliet, Illinois, USA

Project Summary

1,800 students engaged with TCI’s curriculum to develop empathy for global communities and create original products to solve environmental problems.

Detailed Story

The TCI curriculum and activities helped create and build empathy for the global community among Sue’s students. Students were engaged with meaningful activities that helped create ownership and a sense of power to create change. Sue had students create models of original products to solve problems identified through TCI resources. “Students create products to support a solution, so they see themselves as change makers,” explains Sue, demonstrating how the program helps students develop agency in addressing environmental challenges.
