This Earth Month, we are thrilled to announce TCI’s new partnership with the Shellfish Growers Climate Coalition (SGCC) and The Nature Conservancy (TNC), connecting Learning Lab educators with Shellfish Growers members across the country and Canada.

Tell me more about SGCC
The Shellfish Growers Climate Coalition was established in 2018, when seven shellfish farmers partnered with TNC to help move the needle on climate policy. Since then, it has grown to include more than 250 farmers, harvesters, hatchery operators, wholesalers, retailers, restaurateurs, and gear manufacturers from every U.S. coast and Canada. Together, they are standing up for swift climate action to preserve their lives and livelihoods, coastal communities, marine ecosystems, and global food systems.

TCI, SGCC and TNC will be pairing up Learning Lab educators with Shellfish Growers Members during the 2024-2025 school year to facilitate in-class or out in the field learning opportunities with students!
