Want to participate in environmental action but don’t know where to begin?

You are invited to participate in the Summer of Community Science Research (SCSR). From June 1st to August 31st we invite YOU to join us in contributing to existing Community Science Research Projects!

What is Community Science?

Scientists don’t always have a clear-cut way to gather or organize all the data they need by themselves.

Community Science Research is the opportunity for everyday people to contribute to real research projects that scientists are working on. You don’t need to be a scientist or a citizen of any particular nation; anyone can participate.

Often, you can do the work just on your phone or laptop, and you can do it on your own time, when you have your own time. Projects can vary from helping observe biodiversity levels to testing water and air quality to helping track animals during their migration.

There are different types of research projects you can get involved in. Check out the FAQ below to learn more.

Get Involved

Step 1

Register for one of the four onboarding meetings below!

Step 2

Start looking up Community Science Research Projects and save the weblinks of the projects you are interested in!

Step 3

By Friday, June 5th, solidify your projects by registering and filling out the research form.

Step 4

Submit monthly dashboard screenshots. Join our optional monthly check-ins to share your progress!

Step 5

At the end of August, we will create a large-scale report sharing how much research all participants contributed to science!

There are no minimum requirements for each month. This program is designed to be flexible around your schedule. We know participants will be traveling, attending summer classes, and working summer jobs. You may not be able to contribute the same amount of data each month and that is okay!
