High School Students Build Water Filtration Systems
Project Summary
Abel is studying water filtration systems to find cost-effective ways to ensure clean drinking water for communities.
Detailed Story
Having access to clean drinking water is a major global challenge. Abel, a student at GVR High School, is researching water filtration technologies to better understand how to improve water quality. During a January 15, 2025, workshop, Abel and his peers: – Built mini filtration systems – Conducted turbidity tests to measure water quality – Analyzed the cost and effectiveness of different purification methods This hands-on experience gave Abel insights into how Denver purifies its water and how new technologies could make clean water more accessible. His research findings will be part of a final presentation in May 2025.
Impact Statement
– Increased knowledge of water purification processes
– Hands-on experience in filtration technology
– Contributed to sustainable water solutions
