Inspired by TCI’s Climate Justice and Equity Learning Lab, Schenectady students tackled fast fashion’s global impact by creating and distributing 300 free mending kits throughout their county. Their “Stitching Together Communities” project culminated in a massive clothing drive and give-away event with more than 3000 items given away in an underserved area of Schnectady County in New York. This project demonstrates how small actions can create lasting community change.
Impact Statement
Created and distributed 300 free mending kits throughout the county and organized a large-scale clothing drive and give-away event, extending the lifespan of clothing items and reducing textile waste.
